Co.F.A.V. – Consorzio Frutticoltori Alta Valsugana s.c.a. – is a well-established and renowned agricultural entity in the region, comprising around 300 member companies. It produces a total of approximately 30,000 tons of apples annually, two-thirds of which are Golden Delicious.
The project by Giacca Costruzioni Elettriche began modestly, with the team initially tasked with implementing a control and management system primarily focused on intrusion detection and video surveillance in the office area. However, as the technicians delved deeper into the Consortium’s operations, they proposed a full integration of all industrial systems, eventually leading to the development of a comprehensive 360-degree management solution for the company. As a result of their efforts, not only are VoIP intercom, surveillance, intrusion detection, and fire prevention systems fully integrated, but the entire production process, including malfunction alarms, can now be monitored and managed by a single maintenance manager.
The final project allowed for the control and automation of lighting, management of the heating/cooling system via Modbus (including temperature regulation for different areas and programmable thermostats), real-time monitoring and graphical representation of energy consumption, video surveillance, integration of intrusion detection and fire prevention systems, IP intercom services, and an SMS messaging service for employee notifications. All of these functions are supervised via an HSYCO server. Furthermore, the control interface, being web-based with HSYCO, now allows for easy access both locally and remotely through a PC, Smart TV, or 3G mobile devices (in this case, a Windows-based computer and an iPad are the most commonly used devices by the internal manager).
Diving deeper into the details, the integration of control over various systems is highly innovative. Remote access is achieved through a secure connection with multi-level password authentication directly to the HSYCO server, with an interface identical to that of local access.
The control dashboard features a 2D map of the facility, with automatic user location and auto-selection of the control page for the relevant area.
In summary, at the Caldonazzo Consortium, Giacca’s technicians successfully integrated all industrial and civil systems using the HSYCO supervisor. This was achieved through comprehensive Cat6 cabling and separate networks secured by firewalls, as well as full wireless coverage of the area using external access points.
